The paper presents the design and the experimental study of a prototype of frequency converter powered by single phase voltage designed to control three-phase induction motor for the needs of the Laboratory of electric drives of the Technical University - Varna. A number of tasks related to the design of the basic elements of the frequency converter as a bridge rectifier, bridge inverter and driver board are determinate and solved. A special programming of the converter is realized concerning different operating regimes of the three-phase induction motor.
In addition, numerous experiments are conducted with the real-made prototype.
