The objectives and purpose of the JLAS

The Journal of Legal and Administrative Studies was founded in 2002 and it is dedicated to the academic teachers and researchers, lawyers, magistrates, Ph.D. students and post-doctoral researchers into legal and administrative sciences and their auxiliary sciences, from Romania and from abroad.  

Subjects for submission include the following main areas, but are not limited to them: Public Law, Private Law, Protection of human rights and protection against discrimination, European Union law, Forensics and Criminology, Legal Sociology, History of law, Juridical Philosophy.

The journal promotes the original researches that contributes to the knowledge progress and are motivated by the necessity of studying the theory and practice in the mentioned areas.  Also, the journal aims to create a forum for disciplinary and interdisciplinary debates and to become a standard in the national and international juridical and administrative research.  

Since its first issue, notable figures in the field of law and auxiliary sciences become members of the journal editorial board, such as:

Also, among the collaborators, we have to mention European specialists in legal and administrative sciences who, at the beginning, have published studies and articles of interest in the field, some of them becoming, then, members of the editorial board.

In the last issues the studies were written only in English and published on-line with e-ISSN: 2344-6900, ISSN-L: 1583-0772, in order to increase the national and international visibility of the journal.   

Publication frequency: two issues per year, published in July and December (until 2016 the frequency was one issue per year and starting from 2017, two issues per year).

Peer review process: The internal process of reviewing. The Editorial board of JLAS will verify if the manuscript is in full compliance with the instructions for authors and the mandatory structure: abstract, keywords, introduction, conclusions, final bibliography. This procedure takes, normally, a week. The noncompliance with the instructions for authors or with the manuscript structure will lead to the return of manuscripts to their authors in order to revise them. If the revised article are not received in due time, their publication will be denied without further motivation; The external process of reviewing. The Editorial board of JLAS will submit all the articles to the evaluation of to scientific reviewers with acknowledged reputation in the area of the manuscript subject, members of the Editorial board of the journal.

The review process takes, normally, three weeks and it is done from the perspective of the scientific contribution of the articles in the field of law and administrative sciences. The observations are mentioned in the reviewing sheet.  The Editorial board of JLAS reserves the right to publish the articles accepted by the scientific committee in the on-line edition of the journal at the web address: www.jlas.upit.ro . One author may publish only one article per issue. The articles sent for reviewing must not be published or sent for publication in other journals or volumes of scientific events.
