ANALYSIS OF THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ROMANIAN FOOD INDUSTRY

The food industry is among the oldest industrial branches and is of particular importance for the national economy due to the role it plays in ensuring the food security of the population. The food industry in Romania is characterized by diversity and a large number of economic agents. After integration into the European Union, the food industry in Romania has experienced a series of transformations imposed on the one hand by the high level of competition and on the other hand by strict regulations in the field.

The paper aims to present an overview of the food industry in Romania and the analysis of the main indicators that reflect its performance.
